Meaning of this name is unknown.

Andrew Bodinner says: Bodinner/Bodinnar: I understand after discussing my family name with a Cornish geologist that the name is likely to be derived from: Bod (abode/house/home) of Ynyr (honoured). Bodynyr in Celtic became Bodinnar or Bodinner as everyone tended to spell it as they said it :-) Anyway it's a very old Cornish name. Records from Paul in Cornwall were destroyed by a Spanish raiding party from the Armada. I've got my family history back to 1500. Bodinners were involved in the Newly artists and on the Titanic. No dinners/Bodinnars emigrated to Australia and America in the 1800's when the tin mins began to close. Lots of mining heritage: coal, tin and Cleveland ironstone. I hope this helps :-)
