Ken Brucknell says: My immediate family are the only Brucknell,s I can find in the UK. Kitty Edwards the X Factor star uses the name as a stage name, it might be interesting as to where she got it from but she never replied to emails requesting this info. There is a small community in Victoria state Austraia called "Brucknell" however there are no persons named Brucknell iving anywhere in Australia. I have contactedpeople from Histoical Socities in that area so far without success although they have searched for me, none seems to know the origin of the small community named "Brucknell". I was always under the impression my paternal grandfather came to the UK from Switzerland where bruck means bridge ,I think but this is a very tenuous link and as my father left home when I was 4 years old, and my aunt died a spinster there is none to ask. I have tried and failed using several lines of enquiry to get more details on the family history
