Meaning of name Hanzu is: the masculine variant of [Hamza]
Mihail Hanzu says: I disagree with the "meaning" that childishly "explains" "Hanzu" as the masculine variant of "Hamza". Why not "Hamza" to be the feminine variant of "Hanzu"?
Mihail Hanzu says: To add to my previous comment, the name „Hanzu” historically and geographically occurs only in Transylvania, a region where there was no ottoman presence. More, in Romanian, the masculine variant of „Hamza” would be ”Hamzu” not ”Hanzu”. Funny that „Hamzu” name do exist, but the meaning of that name is unknown! I think a correction is needed here, in this case.
Mihail Hanzu says: To add to my previous comments an interesting fact. I just found out that in Hunza Valley of Pakisan there is a language named Burushaski, unrelated with other local languages. The Hunza-Burushaski speakers are saying about themselves that they are remanant of Alexander the Great army. Some Tracians and Dacians from north of the Danube were part of Alexander Macedon army. More, linguists from Northern Macedonia studied Burushasky and are saying that it is related with Romanian. Perhaps the name Hanzu is a very old one.
