Meaning of this name is unknown.
Nick Naumovich says: The name Naumovich literally means - Son of Naum, where the suffix "ovich" or "ovic`" equates to "son of" in the English translation. Naum is the Russian, Bulgarian and Macedonian form of the name Nahum. The source of the name Nahum seems to be that of the 9th of the 12 minor profits in the Old Testament who wrote the Book of Nahum around 612 BC. Nahum literally means 'Yahweh consoles' or ' comforter'. He lived in a very violent world in the 7th Century BC adjacent to the Sea of Galilee in Capernaum, which itself means 'the village of Nahum' (32 deg 53' N, 35 deg 34' E). I'm not sure if he was named for his village or vice versa. nick@naumovich.com
