John Ohs says: The name Ohs was originally Ähs in Sweden. It derived from the name Johanson. The the boys became of age they had to join the military. There were so many with th same name they were allowed to change the name. One picked Malin (sp), one picked Ohs and not sure what the other picked. Ähsvallen was the area they lived that was close to Gnarp Sweden. This was told to me by my family and is documentd. I am from the original Ohs family. My family came to the U.S. and settled in Minnesota, Illinois and Montana. There is a large number of Ohs in Montana.
