Meaning of this name is unknown.
Marcel Pultorak says: There was a Polish coin called Pultorak minted circa 1500-1600. Pultorak can mean one and one half or refer to a larger than usual farm, therefore it may mean a "Pultorak" is a larger person or own/occupies a larger than usual farm. My dad grew up on a "large" farm near Suwalki in NE Poland apparently not far from East Prussia as they sometimes sold their farm products to "Germans". I was also once told by an old Polish Jew tailor back around 1950 that the name meant "wagon wheel", but I've not found any confirmation on that.
Trisha Putorak says: My dad said that our last name was Pultorak before our family came to the US. He also said that his great grandparents owned a large wagon in Poland & neighbors would borrow it, so the family was then known as Pultorak. My dad stated that Pultorak means very large wagon or large wagon wheel.
