Meaning of this name is unknown.

Lebogang Brilliant Singi says: The Singo clan consists of royalty people mainly in the northern province of Limpopo in South Africa
Timothy Singo says: The English/Australian version is a short version of the name Singleton.
Lutendo Rhinah Singo says: The Singo Clan During King Dyambeu’s reign (Khosi Dimbanyika, Paramount Chief of the vhaVenda fl.1688-1720, originally from Zimbabwe following the breakup of the Monomotapa Empire) the Vhavenda kingdom was divided into different chiefdoms ruled by people from the Singo clan appointed by Dyambeu. King Dyambeu did this to entrench and consolidate his hegemony over the entire nation. He and his people moved into the present Limpopo area about 1688, settling in the Dzata region, married and had issue. He died in the Nzhelele Valley about 1720. After his death, his son, Khosi Thohoyandou wa Dimbanyika, became the Paramouunt Chief and may have ruled up to 1800 from Dzata. He was the last of the kings to have ruled a united Venda kingdom from Dzata, and after his death his sons and brothers set up independent chiefdoms; married and had issue. He disappeared mysteriously about 1790 (Venda traditions hold that royal intrigue saw to it that he was secretly assasinated) into the unknown. The Singo tradition has it that King Thohoyandou disappeared without trace and it was believed that he went to Vhukalanga (Zimbabwe). King Thohoyandou ruled from around 1690 to around 1730. King Thohoyandou’s royal palace was at Dzata (Nzhelele). After King Thohoyandou’s disappearance, one of the sources of conflict within the Vhavenda finally led to the division and disintegration of the Vhavenda kingdom. This was rivalry within the royal family over succession to the throne. After the death of a King or chief, Vhavenda were prone to factionalism. This often resulted in a proliferation of independent chiefdoms and violent confrontations.
Lutendo Rhinah Singo says: Singo is a clan name of some tribes of the VhaVenda people who stay in northern South Africa in Limpopo province. It is short for an elephant trunk which is called Musingo in Venda language. Most people who use the Singo surname belong to certain royal Families, such as The Tshivhase Royal Family, Rambuda Royal Family, Mphaphuli Royal Family, and Mphephu-Ramabulana Royal Family.
Tshedza vision singo says: The SINGO family is now all over SA including mudzulathungo
enos singo says: The singo name was blessed and in the bible the name is associated with the israelites
