Meaning of this name is unknown.
Jørgen Kai Trannerup says: I am about 80 years old, and my father was KAI TRANNERUP, tailor, liveng many years in Alekistevej in København. He was deworced from my mother, when I was about 2 tears old, and I have had no contact with him since then. To the question of the origin af the name Trannerup, I can tell you this. The name comes from a small village TRANDERUP on the island ÆRØ with a farm TRANDERUPGAARD. Some years ago I had a college, who was born on Ærø, and she knew the family Tranderup and could tell me, that several of them were tailors. My mother told me once, that her father-in-law was a huge man with a big, red hair and was a plumber in København. In the years the name has changed to TRANNERUP (with no D). My father died many years ago. I do not know, if his wife ELLEN TRANNERUP is still alive. I have 3 children: Gitte Trannerup Carsten Trannerup Steffen Trannerup I suppose, that Henrik Trannerup is my halv-brothe, but I am not sure. With regards, Jørgen Trannerup
