Meaning of this name is unknown.

Ronald Urone says: I live in San Diego California. My Grandfather, Giovanni Urone immigrated to the U.S in early 1900’s. I communicate with Mr. Paolo Urone who lives in Palermo, Sicily. He reports that the surname Urone translates to “Huron”. The same given to North American Native Americans by the French in 1600’s. Reportedly, a French Jesuit Priest rescued a refugee Huron male baby and brought the child to Sicily. There the child was adopted. When the child became of age he decided use the name of his ancestors. He therefore changed his surname to Urone. I have been able to find documentation to support the story but Paolo Urone is a very trusted friend!
